Betty and Bob's 50th Wedding Anniversary

In 1968, Bob's older brother, Roy Jr, died. Since their mother, Helen Fagous had died several years before, Bob and Betty were given custody of Roy's children. The three boys moved in with Bob and Betty, while their little sister moved in with Bob's sister, Dorothy Creed. A few years earlier, Betty's mother had moved into the house, and lived on the ground floor level that Bob had sectioned off as an apartment. And when Betty's brother needed a place to stay for a few months, Bob created a bedroom out of a storage closet. At one point in the late 60s, Bob and Betty were supporting 11 people on his university salary and freelance work.
