Betty and Bob's 50th Wedding Anniversary

Bob earned a reputation for being quite a handyman. His kids never knew when they would come home to see a new room here or a missing wall there. We had the only house in the neighborhood with a cubby hole.
The members of The Noble Avenue Church of Christ moved to a new location and changed the name to the West Akron Church of Christ. Betty became their choir director. All four children became active members of the church and Bob Jr. eventually became an ordained minister.
When the children grew old enough, Bob and Betty bought a tent and VW camper bus. They initiated a love of the outdoors that still exists in each of the four kids and has extended to all the grand children. The first camping trip was an overniter at a small frog pond in Ohio called "Lila Lake," right after the area had been flooded by late spring rains.
