Johann was born in Volklingen in 1904. He married Katharina Hofer, who was born in Gillenfeld on February 20, 1906. They had a son, Hans, who was born in Dusseldorf on August 1, 1930.

Johann died in Daun on July 2, 1987.
Katharina died in Daun on October 5, 1996.
